The flow of time changes many things, be it relationships or even one's appearance. When Marley first came to Mystal, she had clear skin and long hair, but now her hair rested on her shoulders and her skin was marked by scars and a nigh permanent irritable expression, her nose now crooked from being broken so often. Time flowed on, as it was meant to and most of the changes were irreversible. One might get plastic surgery to remove the scars, which Marley had been shocked to find out was a real thing you could do, but the memories would remain. The damage would always be done, even if it no longer showed on your flesh.  Unless, however, one was willing to stoop low enough to use Time Magic. Not many are willing to use this magic, worried about the consequences. Marley, however, never was one to worry about anything quite so fundamental as consequences and responsible thought.

In fact, it was possibly her aversion to responsible thought that not only led her to this, but also to the idea of dragging Ashley down with her. Too much interaction with the past was strictly forbidden, but that wasn't particularly concerned with. Instead, she more looked forward to seeing how she could change the present and how pissed off she could make Ashley. Two birds, one stone, right?

But for time magic to teleport groups, you need key holds. Responsible folks will use something that everyone present can hold onto. Others will charm jewelry and some time mages are powerful enough to teleport groups without a key hold. However, Marley wasn't a time mage, let alone a powerful one. But she did have a threatening demeanor, when she wanted to, so finding a time mage and forcing them to bend to her will wasn't particularly difficult. In fact, it was perhaps harder deciding which of her belongings she was willing to have enchanted.

In the end, she decided on the golden locket she wore and two bracelets, one for herself and the other for Ashley. I won't bore you with the details of creating a keyhold, but it should be known that for a non-time mage to take someone with them, it involves equal parts time magic and blood magic. The locket was magically sealed shut, to keep both the time energy and the blood inside. Neither will I bore you on the magic sealing the expensive looking bracelets to the locket, but I will let you know that the single ruby on the locket and the single diamond, no matter how good they look on the locket, once belonged to one of the bracelets and the magic that hides the empty spaces on the bracelets involved Marley's own blood.

However, Marley currently hid the necklace under her the neckline of her form fitting shirt and what was soon to be Ashley's bracelet within the pocket of her skirt. As she walked, her steps quick, she wore her best frown and began to gently bit her own lip. Her brow furrowed slightly and she emulated a mask of quilt, something she had used to trick people before. She stopped at the entrance of the commons and leaned against the door frame as she spoke

"Ashley?" When Ashley didn't reply straight away, she continued "Ash." She didn't give Ashley much time to reply before she spoke again, "Ashleeeey" She became a bit whiny, as was expected of her at this point. Marley didn't like when she wasn't responded to quickly enough and considered it the other ignoring her. Whining or yelling were always sure to follow.

Time, it was a force to be reckoned with. It had transformed Ashley from the lanky, pretty faced, egotistical bitch she had been at fourteen years old when she first arrived at Mystal. It had given her knowledge, and allowed her to accept her flaws, which in turn shaped her into the gorgeous, far more tolerable, albeit still vain, woman she had grown to be. Even if she wasn't utterly irked by the meddling of time magic, it was unlikely that she would change what had shaped her for the better over the past several years. It wasn't a question of weather she was worried about the consequences or not, it was simply that the use of time magic pissed her off, perhaps due mainly personal experience, hers had never ended well in dealing the time and space.

If only Ashley had been paying attention to what her dearest sister Marley was up to, or what she was plotting at this moment, because then she may have taken precautions to prepare herself for whatever hell storm the vixen was planning to unleash on her. God, the lengths that girl would go to too get under her skin. Though she usually wasn't bellow reciprocating it, and returning the favor, she didn't typically start the shit.

Though for the time being, Ashley remained blissfully unaware, her golden blonde hair tossed over her shoulder as she sat in the commons, which was rather empty, odd for this time of day, but she didn't pay much mind. She leaned back in the chair, one leg crossed over the other as a well manicured hand tapped against the leg of her dark wash jeans. She flicked a piece of lint from her pastel pink blouse with her other hand, before turning her attention back to whatever set of papers sat in her lap. But she couldn't keep her attention on it, uninterested in whatever it said, and also pestered by the all too familiar voice calling her name, that she didn't notice until it began sounding whinny. "Hm? What is it Muse?" she quirked an eyebrow.

When Marley had gotten her sister's attention, she had to stop herself from smirking. Not only that, but as the conversation would go on she'd find herself resisting any thoughts of her plan and instead focusing on the falsities of what was happening. If anyone did check her thoughts, they'd either be hit by a shield or drowned in false guilt.  She fidgeted with the ruby adorned bracelet she wore, trying to emulate some of her usual nervous habits.  If she were trying to fool anyone else, she'd worry they'd easily see through the act. Then again, there really weren't many she enjoyed fucking with quite as much as Ashley. Aiya never faced deception, unless Marley wanted something and wasn't getting her way and even Levi, whom Marley would openly claim to hate more than any one else in the school, generally wasn't worth the effort or the pain that may be involved.

Ashley, however, wasn't someone she hated enough to think the ordeal an inane waste of time, but not someone who she'd really feel bad for hurting. Whereas Ashley had changed for the better, Marley simply became better at hiding her slightly sadistic ways. For AIya or Olivia, she'd behave, but certain times without your self instated keepers was prone to encourage bad behavior. So having not spent time with her friends for ages, Marley grew bored and the best boredom buster seemed to be This.

Well, she had also considered spending some time down in the dungeons, but the Elven kingdom currently had no prisoners and Marley didn't feel like wasting any time with a whip either way.

"I was hoping we could talk." Her voice, as usual, almost came off as defensive, if not for the slight pompous air she carried it with, but for the next part of her act, she allowed it to soften, become more gentle. "Alone."

(tho like adding alone usually means "hey either I have bad news or I'm going to do something bad")

The guilt drawn on Marley's expression was..off putting to say the least. A brief and shallow search of her mind and all Ashley could read was an influx of guilt. She didn't dwell to long on the fact that guilt was surely not an emotion that her darling sister was typically riddled with. In fact Ashley wasn't completly positive that Marley even possessed a conscious. But I digress, perhaps Ashley was feeling.. particularly empathetic for some reason and those rational thoughts seemed to simmer out.

In all honestly Ashley didn't blame her for not feeling bad about hurting her, she was a big girl, she could handle herself just fine, and besides she wasn't so innocent. She too did her fare share of screwing with people, and it seemed that their entire relationship road on seeing what tricks they could pull on one another. It was quite amusing anyway.

"I'm all ears." Ashley commented, crossing her arms over her chest and staring at Marley with a curious expression. "We are along." She said with a dismissive glance around the common room. Though her expression did soften slightly, perhaps with some compassion for the seemingly distressed sister of hers.

Marley could feel Ashley’s quick, prodding search and, as always, she found the search to be a gross invasion of her privacy. Admittedly, this was hypocritical, but she had done far worse than hypocrisy in the past. For now, however, she let the feeling bury itself deeper, somewhere Ashley didn’t seem to want to bother to check. She was almost disappointed when Ashley withdrew, as if the searching would have just made this all more challenging. So much more fun. Marley still moved into the room, her motions now slow and steady and as confident as ever, the actions contradictory nature to her expression only slightly noticeable and, likely, not of much concern.

After all, Marley would act confident if she had just been run through with a sword, she thought keeping up the appearance she had created was important. No one takes a whiny assassin seriously.

Considering how their relationship worked, Marley hoped Ashley wouldn’t question why she was suddenly so guilt-ridden about it. Of course, she had excuses all planned out and, perhaps for the first time in ages, these excuses were only partially fictional. She’d blame her past actions on their mind magic, which she’d be sure to remind her did sometimes have... adverse effects on the user, and how it was hard to control herself because of it.

Normally, Marley would doubt how well this would work, but she was getting the feeling that wouldn’t be an obstacle today.

“I didn’t notice.” This was said dismissively, as if she just had to pause to defend why she requested they go elsewhere when the room was already empty. Another thing Marley was always doing, acting so defensive about minor things. “It’s about... uh, some of my ‘past actions’.”

It was a gross invasion of privacy, and perhaps Ashley had partially realized that over the years. Only partially. She was still liable to dig deep into the depths of someones mind if she was so inclined to find an answer they weren't giving her, or just see what they were thinking about. But she had been trying to give people she really cared about a little more privacy. Still, Marley wasn't one to be judging her use of mind magic in all her hypocritical glory. The vague air of confidence in her step as she slowly walked closer didn't raise many questions. It was always there, in some form or another- despite the situation. That was one of the traits they shared, confidence no matter what (and cockiness as well, especially on Ashley's part).

Ashley was hardly in a mood to question the sudden guilt. She wasn't in the right mindset for it, so she was only vaguely skeptical of Marley's motives for wanting to repent her sins all of a sudden. She squinted as Marley approached her, arms still crossed over her chest. She was growing impatient at the pace of her steps, and glanced at her rose gold wrist watch as if she had somewhere else to be. She didn't, but she never really could shake the impatient heiress aesthetic.

"Understandable, the commons never really are particularly loud. Even when it's full of life." she shrugged. "Past actions? I'm surprised. I thought you were all living in the future 'my action don't have consequences. Or whatever."

Choosing to take much of Ashley's actions thus far as good fortune, Marley had to contain herself from smirking. Of course, being who she was ideas for pushing her luck flooded her mind.

Another time would come for them all, she was sure. For now, she did happen to have plans and, unlike her usual missteps, she wouldn't ruin everything for herself.

As Ashley's eyes drifted to her watch, Marley's brow furrowed and her lips pulled back slightly, the easy expression, one that perhaps was most commonly seen on the redhead, betrayed her irritation. This was easy to play off, surely. Smoothing the expression over and relaxing her muscles, Marley let out a heavy sigh, resting a hand on Ashley's wrist, over the watch, once she was the close enough. These dramatics were perfectly normal, all things considered.

"Ash, this is important. Please" She looked almost pained as she stressed the last word, offering a guilty smile.

"Exactly. Not my fault they're so... boring usually." Okay, focus. Stop insulting people you barely know. "Is living in the future all so bad? Imagine, if I... dealt with half the shit my job made me do." By dealt with, she meant emotionally accepted it. The false emotion plastered on her face was replaced and for a moment, Marley actually looked upset at the prospect. They'd be easier to deal with if she had excuses for dealing with it. Why did she whip her prisoners? They deserve it. Why did she stab Levi? They needed the key.

Most of those deaths? She had trouble making her own excuses. She'd deal with it later, probably with drugs. No more shitty emotions about that one.
